While many people believe that coffee is the only way to get a quick boost of energy, there really is a better way. Don’t get me wrong. I love a good cup of coffee, but sometimes our bodies just need to MOVE!
On days that I don’t workout (either because I’m resting or just don’t have time,) I like to do a mini workout. I actually do these quick workouts just about every day. If I workout in the morning, I’ll do one in the afternoon. If I’m planning an afternoon workout, I’ll do one first thing in the morning. Mini workouts are great because they get your blood flowing, wake up your brain, and don’t make you so sweaty that you need a shower. I like to do one cardio exercise, one leg exercise, one arm exercise, and one abs exercise.
Here’s an example:
- 25 jumping jacks
- 25/side inner leg lifts
- 10 pushups
- 25 reverse crunches
