How often do you take the time to think about why you’re working out before you actually start?I’m going to guess the answer is almost never. If that’s the case, you’re missing out on some great benefits: taking a few minutes to think about what you want to get out of your workout will help you work harder.
For example, you might be working out because you want more stamina so you can run around with your kids all day. If that’s the case, when your workout starts to feel tough, focus on how great you’ll feel playing with your kids. If you want to show off some sexy definition at the beach, when your muscles are starting to get shaky on that third round of pushups, think about how great you’ll look this summer.
Giving your workout a purpose beyond just needing to do it will make your workouts more meaningful and more fun, and give you better results.
